Honey production is on! As of June 6th, everything is going so well at 1291 Bayview. Here you can see our bees working hard at constructing cells and storing honey. Around this time of year, the colony is growing rapidly. The hive must be fully inspected to ensure that the queen has enough space to […]

In an urban environment this essential step helps to prevent the phenomenon called swarming. For our Montreal hives, this step took place on May 9th. A second queen born […]

We are always eager, once the weather permits, to open our hives for the very first time of the year. It is also a somewhat anxious moment since we can see if the colony has survived our harsh Quebec winter. What a joy it was to see that our 2 hives at our Laval site […]
Despite the heat, our Laval hives are doing great. During one of the last visits, our beekeeper was able to see how healthy they are. With the addition of another box, and then the wire mesh to restrict the queen to the lowest box, the bees will be able to devote their efforts to produce […]
🐝 Our beekeepers from Alveole, Gus and Mimi, in action at our Montreal site. Our hives are in really good health, they even added a second level to each of them.
