Summer visit at our Toronto beehive

News, Urban Beekeeping

Honey production is on! As of June 6th, everything is going so well at 1291 Bayview. Here you can see our bees working hard at constructing cells and storing honey.

Around this time of year, the colony is growing rapidly. The hive must be fully inspected to ensure that the queen has enough space to lay eggs, that the resources are well distributed, and that the colony doesn’t intend to swarm.

Thanks to Rachel Lucas, our Toronto beekeeper.
