JOB DESCRIPTION
Cromwell is seeking to hire a Senior Property Accountant to join our team. The candidate will be primarily responsible for managing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for several of Cromwell’s owned and managed properties. Additional responsibilities will be required on a periodic basis including supporting management with information requests or financial analysis. The ideal candidate must be well organized, proactive, hard-working and should be able to multi–task in a fast–paced environment.

Position : Permanent – Full time – 40 hours/week
Location : Greater Montreal

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Finance Functions :
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial records;
- Perform monthly accounting close procedures;
- Review of monthly rent rolls for accuracy and up-to-date tenant information;
- Review and input lease documents including new lease set-up, renewals and terminations;
- Prepare annual CAM and TAX reconciliations on the commercial portfolio;
- Prepare and analyze quarterly financial statements and working papers for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties;
- Cash flow management;
- Prepare compliance filings such as sales taxes;
- Prepare year-end financials;
- Be involved with the preparation of the annual budget submissions for multiple properties;
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
- Experience in property accounting is mandatory and Hopem accounting software is an asset for this role;
- Post-secondary education with a specialty in Accounting;
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet time sensitive deadlines;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Self-starter attitude with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Highest degree of integrity, honesty and commitment to professionalism.
